I have arrived in Jogjakarta, a city with 700 000 people, whose got quite some charm. I've visited the temples of Prambanan which are the most beautiful remains of the hindu period of Java, they were erected between the 8th and the 10th century when Java was governed by the Sailendra bouddhists in the South and the Sanjaya hindus of ancient Mataram in the North.
Prambanan temples, there are 260 temples in that area alone, most are in ruins, some have been reconstructed, the site suffered much from natural disasters that occurred over the centuries.
Candi Shiva Mahadeva temple, 47 meters high.
Some magnificent sculptures cover the walls.
